Movio Promotes Nicholas Maquet to Chief Technology Officer

PRESS RELEASE —

Auckland, NZ September 22, 2020 – Movio, a company specializing in marketing data analytics for the cinema industry, has named Nicolas Maquet as Chief Technology Officer. Maquet, who joined Movio six years ago and was subsequently named Head of Technology, will report to Matthew Liebmann, Chief Operating Officer at Movio.

A native of Belgium, Maquet earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science at the Free University of Brussels in 2006 and remained there as a researcher for four years. In 2011, he became a Software Engineer at Worldline by Atos, an electronic payment system linked to Belgium’s two largest credit card companies, Visa and Mastercard, as well as working as a lecturer at the University of Mons. In 2014, he co-founded DemonSquid, which built web applications for tabletop role-playing games. That same year he joined Movio as a Software Engineer and was made Head of Technology in 2017.

Theater chain Kinepolis has opened its new Centrum Schalkwijk location in Haarlem, Netherlands today, October 8—though its inauguration has been postponed to a later date due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition, the chain’s 10 MJR Digital Cinemas locations— acquired by Kinepolis in October 2019 , marking the chain’s first foray into the American market—will reopen this weekend. NATO Releases CinemaSafe ‘Welcome Back to the Movies’ Video

PRESS RELEASE As movie theaters continue to re-open in the United States, the National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO) today released a CinemaSafe “Welcome Back to the Movies” video. The 60-second animated video–which will soon be available onscreen at movie theaters—demonstrates the CinemaSafe health and safety protocols moviegoers will see when they return to the movies at participating CinemaSafe movie theaters. More than 370 companies, comprising more than 3,000 locations and more than 33,000 screens across the United States have signed on to the protocols , with more signing up every day. Participating theaters commit to meet or exceed the voluntary protocols. Those theaters may display the CinemaSafe badge and protocols on their websites, and at their theater locations. Comscore Inks Preferred Agreement with Marcus Theatres for Next Generation Theater Management
